Luck You Kyoto offers accommodation in Kyoto. Free luggage storage is available. The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. I loved the care and kindness of the staff. The owner (I think) perfectly speaks English - very rare in Japan even in hospitality - and is extremely helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. All amenities provided, delicious breakfast

Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in er 1000 ára gamalt búddahof og býður upp á gistirými í japönskum stíl, fallegan garð og ókeypis WiFi. I had so many expectations and Ekoin delivered everything. The temple itself is gorgeous, it is over 1.000 years, but so well kept, just impecable tatamis, garden, paintings, artwork. Also, it is so close to Okunoin cementery...i loved this part of town, so calm, feels like another time. The shared restrooms were a concern before getting there, but they ended up being one of the best of our entire trip - the bath is at the onsen, but is was ok for a day. Also, they provide a guide book to temple etiquette/schedules -just READ IT, do not go to morning service wearing yukata and do not arrive late. The monks are kind enough to let it go, but it is very disrespectful. The food is great, even though we are not vegetarians, we loved shojing ryori! And our favourite part was the morning service and the goma/fire ritual, do not miss it.

Koyasan Shukubo Daimyouin er staðsett í Koyasan, í innan við 39 km fjarlægð frá Tama-safninu og í 39 km fjarlægð frá Kishi-stöðinni og býður upp á gistirými með garði og ókeypis WiFi. When we arrived, they welcomed us with tea and a small sweet, which was lovely. Our room was large and looked out to the garden, which was gorgeous. We went in November and the autumnal colours in the garden and the town were absolutely beautiful. In the morning we had the privilege to attend the prayer and we received a blessing. After breakfast it started to snow, so we spent an hour watching the garden slowly turn white, it was magical. The communal toilets were clean and the communal bath was small but comfortable. Because the town is up in the mountains, and the building is all wood and paper walls it was very cold in the corridors, but we had heating in the room and nice thick covers for the night. A highlight of the stay were the dinner and the breakfast. All vegan food, very tasty even for us, who are not vegan or vegetarian. It is very conveniently located to visit Okunoin cemetery, we took part in a night tour, something that we highly recommend. All in all it was a magical stay and I would highly recommend it.

Very welcoming monks Very close to the bus station and at a walking distance from the temples (careful, you must be back to the ryokan by 5pm) Dinner and breakfast (vegetarian) are delicious and served directly in the room The room was cosy and traditional, with comfortable futons, and yukatas are available There is a large hot tub, similar to an onsen to be shared with the other guests, this is where you shower too (you must be comfortable with nudity) We attended the morning ceremony, a unique moment

Situated in Koyasan in the Wakayama region, 宿坊 光明院 features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. Everyone there was wonderful, willing to help even with the language barrier. The dinner and breakfast were delicious (if you stay more than one night, note that you'll eat the same dinner and breakfast) The room and all the temple was super clean and calm. It was a great place to stay! I really love the ceremonies that I could witness, meditation in the evening, morning ceremony and goma ceremony (fire ceremony). The one thing I was surprised by is that the showers are "Onsen Showers" so it's in a commun room, with little stools where you can clean yourself before entering the bath. Not a negative point, just something I wasn't expecting. Thanks to all the staff there for a wonderful stay!

清浄心院 is situated in Koyasan, 45 km from Matsushita Park, 47 km from Subaru Hall, and 49 km from Jigenin Temple. It is set 39 km from Kishi Station and features full-day security. I have stayed in quite a few places in Japan but this is my favorite for so many reasons: - You are staying in a temple monastery and you can see and feel that everywhere. You are staying in a piece of history. - the graveyard is one minute walking away (I went there three times in different times of the day) - you get a free tour of temple, can attend the morning prayer and a fire ceremony - the staff was super kind and some spoke very good English - I could check in early - the food is something very different than usual - there is an Onsen instead of a traditional shower room (bathing hours are limited see below) - the wifi is good

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. Everything was perfect about this hotel. Our room was large but very cute with a nice garden and in a great location. And staff was very helpful. We also got some cool amenities.

Shirahama no Yado Daigo er staðsett í Shirahama, í innan við 200 metra fjarlægð frá Shirahama-ströndinni og 1,2 km frá Ezura-ströndinni og býður upp á ókeypis WiFi hvarvetna á gististaðnum. The hostess (who's also the owner) was a very nice and friendly person. Breakfast was complimentary and the hostess even made breakfast by herself to guests every morning and it was delicious! The room is equipped with tatami floor and was super clean. There was no bed but instead futon was provided and you need to set it up by yourself at night which was interesting. It was a special experience to get a chance to sleep in a Japanese futon. If you don't know how to set it up they will help you too. The bathroom is big and equipments were new. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk to the beach. It's also close to a bus stop which takes you to surrounding sightseeing places. There are convenient store and supermarket within walking distance and you can buy fireworks there to play at the beach at night. If we come back to Shirahama in the future we will choose to stay here again.

Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. Provides accommodation located 600 metres from the centre of Kyoto and offers an open-air bath and a shared lounge. Fantastic service from start to finish. From the check in process, to the check out, the staff always made sure you were comfortable and had what you needed. The location is easy to get to and the rooms themselves are stunning. A big selling point of course was the private bath, but a pleasant surprise was their restaurant. My booking included breakfast and a Wagyu course dinner and both were delicious and very satisfying. For a one night splurge, I highly recommend this hotel.
